As of March 1, 2016, Elbert County has increased to a Stage II Burn Restriction. This restriction prohibits the following: 1. Open burning, excepting charcoal grill fires, fires in approved portable exterior fireplaces, outdoor welding or hot work, and the sale and use of fireworks in compliance with State and Local regulations. 2. Outdoor smoking, excepting smoking within an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site, or while stopped in an area at least 3 feet in diameter that is barren or cleared of all flammable materials. 3. The sale or use of fireworks. 4. Use of educational rockets. See Burn Permit Page for More Details

    Space Heaters Need Space Keep portable and space heaters at least 4 feet away from anything that will burn.  Never leave heaters on when you leave home or go to sleep. Children and pets should always be kept away from them them.
